Identical sounds recorded over Clearfield Pennsylvania 1/17/12
Saturday morning at 2:15 AM I clearly heard what sounded like a humming sound within my house. I got out of bed and opened my bedroom window to hear strange sounds emanating from the sky, or at least being echoed into the sky. I went out to the backyard with my cell phone and attempted to record these sounds with the video recorder function, however my phone was not able to pick up these sounds that could clearly be heard by ear. I awoke my brother Glenn to join me out in the yard and he also attempted to capture the sounds with his cell, but also to no avail. It is apparent that a video recorder is required for this task, or in the least, a phone with a quality microphone. Glenn did confirm, however, that he too clearly heard strange noises that seemed to be coming from somewhere in the distance that he had never before heard in this or any other place where he has lived.
We live in a very small town on Lake Erie in Western New York, and at that time of the morning this town is usually blanketed in a very tranquil hush. The sounds were a medium pitched humming noise, slightly mechanical in nature, that sometimes seemed to drop at least an octave in key. They came and went for at least the better part of an hour, but could have continued after I returned to sleep, and could have been sounding well before I became aware of them. I have included with this post a recording made in Clearfield, Pennsylvania on 1/17/12, just 130 miles from our home that appears to match the sounds we heard identically.
